Marco launches on TechCrunch: financing for Latin American exporters from Miami
TechCrunch exclusively featured Marco in September 2020: a Miami-born fintech created to serve small and medium-sized exporters in Latin America, with Mexico among its first markets. That same thesis underpins Marco's comprehensive platform today.

TechCrunch exclusively introduced Marco to the world in September 2020: a fintech founded in January of that year in Miami to serve small and medium-sized exporting businesses in Latin America, a trade finance market estimated at $350 billion that traditional banking left out.
Jonathan Shieber's article described the company's launch with seed capital from Struck Capital and Antler and a funding facility of more than $20 million underwritten by Arcadia Funds, with Mexico, Uruguay, Chile, Colombia, and Peru as its first markets.
That thesis—solving what banks do not solve for Latin American companies that sell in dollars—is the same one that today supports Marco's comprehensive platform: a global dollar account, FX, payments, and liquidity all in a single infrastructure.
“Equity funding and a material credit facility let us serve this underserved market in Latin America.”
